Set up subscriptions for your channel

To charge for access to your channel or group, you add the bot as an admin, the app detects it, and you confirm the connection. There’s no chat ID to copy and no form to fill in.

Steps

1. Open More → Subscriptions → Connect a channel or group.
2. Tap Add to channel (or Add to group) and pick your chat. The bot must be an administrator with permission to invite users and to ban members — both are required.
3. The chat appears under Detected within moments of the bot being promoted.
4. Tap Verify & connect. The app re-checks the rights and creates the channel’s access link.
5. Add a plan so people have something to buy.
6. Share your subscribe link from the channel’s manage screen.

Requirements

• The chat has to be a private channel or group — that’s what makes paid access meaningful.
• You must be an admin of it. The app checks the caller’s own rights during verification too.
• The bot’s two permissions are non-negotiable: it uses the invite right to create the join link and admit paying members, and the ban right to remove members whose subscription ends.

How access is enforced

The bot creates one invite link for the channel that generates join requests. When somebody asks to join, the bot checks their subscription: live subscribers are approved, everybody else is declined. Nothing about the link itself grants access, so a leaked link doesn’t cost you anything.

If you ever want to swap it out anyway, Rotate access link on the manage screen kills the old one and mints a new one. Current subscribers aren’t affected.

Managing a connected channel

• Subscribers and Earnings screens show who’s paying and what came in.
• Archive channel stops new sales and renewals — nobody is charged again. Reversible — this is how you wind a channel down.
• Disconnect channel detaches it permanently, and is only available once no live subscriptions remain.

⚠️ Don’t remove the bot’s admin rights

If the bot is demoted or removed, the channel is marked broken: sales and renewals pause and you get a warning message. Re-add it as an admin with both permissions and verify again to resume. Your subscribers’ access isn’t retroactively broken, but nobody is charged or admitted while it lasts.
