Your account PIN

Your PIN is a 4–8 digit code you type to confirm a withdrawal to a new address — one you haven’t withdrawn to before. Once an address is confirmed, it’s trusted for future withdrawals, so you won’t be asked again for it.

Setting or changing your PIN

Setting a PIN, or changing an existing one, is authorized by an email code (OTP) — the app mails you a 6-digit code you enter to prove the change is really yours. This means a stolen Telegram session can’t quietly plant its own PIN. See email verification.

You’ll be asked to choose a code that isn’t trivially guessable (no single repeated digit, no straight run like 1234).

Wrong entries and lockout

• After 5 wrong entries, the PIN is locked for 15 minutes.
• The lockout only affects the PIN. If you’ve enrolled Face ID, you can still use that to confirm.

How it’s stored

Your PIN is stored hashed, never in plain text. Support cannot see it and will never ask for it. If you forget it, you can set a new one — again authorized by an email code.

Face ID as an alternative

If your device supports Telegram biometrics, you can enroll Face ID or fingerprint as a faster alternative to typing the PIN. It falls back to the PIN whenever biometrics aren’t available.
