How to send a Telegram profile gift
Profile gifts are the little Telegram gifts that sit on a user’s profile. You can buy one with your crypto balance and send it to a friend, to yourself, or as a shareable check link.
Steps
- Open Stars & Gifts and go to the Gifts tab.
- Pick a gift from the catalog. Each one shows its Star price and a USD price; a sold-out limited gift appears dimmed and can’t be selected.
- Optionally turn on Upgrade to a unique gift — for extra Stars the gift becomes a random rare, tradable collectible.
- Optionally add a message — short, shown together with the gift.
- In To, choose how it’s delivered: a check link, a friend’s numeric Telegram ID, or For myself.
- Decide whether to show yourself as the sender, pick the asset to pay with, review the total and tap Send gift. Confirm with your PIN or Face ID if asked.
Choosing the recipient
- Check link (the default) — works for anyone. You pay now and share the link; whoever activates it first receives the gift. Unclaimed links refund automatically.
- Telegram ID — a direct send. The person must have started our bot at least once, otherwise we can’t reach them and the app suggests a check link instead.
- For myself — the gift lands on your own profile.
Some people block gifts from bots in their Telegram privacy settings. If so, the app tells you before you pay and no money moves.
Anonymous by default
Gifts arrive from the bot without your name. Switch on Show me as the sender and your name is added to the gift message and to the recipient’s notification.
Good to know
- The catalog is Telegram’s, and limited gifts really do run out — a sold-out gift can’t be ordered.
- Your money is held in escrow until the gift is delivered. Failed deliveries are refunded automatically.
- You can cancel while an order is still Pending. Once it flips to Sending, the gift may already be on its way and can’t be cancelled — see Your Stars, Premium and gift orders.
