How to get verified

2 min readUpdated Aug 7, 2026

Verification runs in three stages inside the app: your phone number, your basic details, then a document and liveness check. Open More → Verification to start.

Stage 1 — phone number

Tap Share my phone number. Telegram shows its own confirmation dialog and sends the number that’s already attached to your Telegram account. The app never sees your contact list, and you can’t type a different number — the number is signed by Telegram and checked on our side.

Once shared, the row shows a masked version of the number and the pill turns to Verified.

Stage 2 — basic information

Fill in your last name, first name, middle name (optional), date of birth, and your country of residence as a two-letter code (for example US). Tap Save.

You must be 18 or older. A younger date of birth is rejected with “You must be over 18 to get verified.”

Stage 3 — identity documents

With the first two steps done, the Verify with Sumsub button becomes active. (Until then it’s greyed out with “Complete the previous steps first.”)

Tapping it opens the Sumsub verification module inside the app. You’ll be asked for a government-issued ID and a liveness check — a short selfie capture that proves a real person is holding the document. Your documents go to Sumsub, our verification provider; they don’t pass through the wallet’s own servers.

After you submit, the identity row shows Pending. The result arrives as a Telegram message from the bot, and the row updates to Verified or Declined.

How long it takes

Reviews are usually quick, but there’s no guaranteed time. You don’t need to keep the app open; you’ll be messaged either way.

What about source of funds?

One more card, Source of funds, appears on the screen only when a deposit has been put on hold — you can’t start it yourself. See source-of-funds requests.
