What verification is and when you need it
You do not need to verify your identity to use the wallet. You can open the app, receive crypto, send it to other Telegram users, swap, and withdraw without ever uploading a document. Verification is optional and exists for three specific situations.
What verification actually does
- It lifts a compliance restriction. If outgoing transactions on your account have been restricted, verification is usually how you lift it — some cases also wait on a review or an operator. See why your account is restricted.
- It unlocks merchant features. Creating merchant apps and other business-side tools can require verified identity.
- It raises your withdrawal ceiling. While you’re unverified, a daily limit on withdrawals in USD terms may apply. The current figure is shown on the Verification screen under Daily limit — and only while it actually applies to you.
If none of those apply to you, there is nothing to do. Your wallet works fully.
The two levels
The Verification screen shows your level at the top:
- Level 1 · Basic — the default. Everything in the wallet works, within the standard limits.
- Level 2 · Verified — reached when your identity documents are approved. The screen then reads “Your identity is verified — all limits are raised.”
A progress bar tracks three items: your email address, your phone number, and the identity document check.
What it isn’t
Verification is not a sign-up gate, not a condition of holding funds, and not something support enables on a whim. Your funds are yours whether you’re verified or not.
Where to find it
Open the app, go to More → Verification. If a restriction is active, a red banner at the top of that screen explains it, and the steps below it are your way out.
