My deposit is on hold for an AML review
Incoming deposits are screened against sanctions and risk databases before they are credited. Most deposits pass instantly. Two things can happen when one doesn’t.
A delayed deposit (no action needed)
If the check needs more time, you get a Telegram message: “Your top-up … was received and is passing a routine check — it will be credited automatically. No action needed, your funds are safe.”
That’s it. The credit lands on its own once the check clears. Don’t re-send anything.
A held deposit (action needed)
If the funds came from an address that screening flags as sanctioned or high-risk, the deposit is held: it is not credited, and the funds are parked in custody outside your balance until the review resolves.
When that happens:
- Outgoing transactions on your account are paused. See why outgoing transactions are restricted.
- A Source of funds step appears on More → Verification.
- You get a Telegram message asking you to confirm where the funds came from.
Confirming the source of funds is the way out — see source-of-funds requests. If the review is approved, the held deposit is credited automatically and the restriction is lifted. If it isn’t approved, the deposit isn’t credited and the funds stay frozen; that outcome needs support.
Why it happens
Screening looks at the sending address, not at you. A deposit routed through a mixer, a sanctioned service, or an address associated with fraud can be flagged even if you had nothing to do with it — for example, if you bought crypto from a peer who paid you with tainted funds.
What not to do
- Don’t send more funds to the same address hoping to “unstick” it. New deposits are screened the same way.
- Don’t ask a third party to “release” the deposit. Only the review does that.
Getting help
If your deposit stays held after you’ve completed the source-of-funds step, or if you can’t complete it, contact support through More → Support with the transaction hash of the deposit.
