Source-of-funds requests
A Source of funds step appears on your Verification screen when a deposit has been placed on hold by an AML check. It asks you to show where the money came from. Completing it is what releases the held deposit.
You can’t start this step yourself — it appears only when it’s been requested.
Before you can start
Source of funds requires identity verification first. If your documents aren’t approved yet, the card reads “Complete identity verification (step 3) first.” Do that stage first — see how to get verified — then come back.
The reasoning is simple: documents about money mean nothing until it’s clear whose money it is.
What you’ll be asked for
Open More → Verification and tap Confirm source of funds. The step opens the same verification module used for documents, and consists of a short questionnaire plus supporting documents. Typical evidence:
- a bank statement showing the funds,
- exchange account history or a withdrawal receipt,
- a contract, invoice, or payslip,
- a sale agreement, if the funds came from selling something.
Submit documents that actually match the amount and the timing of the held deposit. A statement for an unrelated account won’t clear the review.
Statuses and outcomes
The card shows a status pill: Not started, In review, Approved, Retry, or Declined.
- Approved — the held deposit is credited automatically and the restriction on outgoing transactions is lifted. The card reads “Source of funds confirmed — the held deposit has been credited.”
- Retry — the review needs another attempt. Open the step again and resubmit with clearer or more complete documents.
- Declined — the deposit is not credited and the restriction stays. The funds remain frozen outside your balance. Contact support if you believe this is wrong.
Who decides
The verdict comes from our verification provider, not from chat support — and there is no way to pay to speed it up or bypass it.
